Adirondack Announces 2009 Regular Season Schedule

Katie Gardiner, a former Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year will captain the Lynx for her third year. Gardiner also captained the University of Hartford her senior year.

The Adirondack Lynx announced its 2009 regular season schedule today as it looks to prepare for the the teams fourth season. Adirondack comes into its fourth year of existence looking to reload. In 2008 the team struggled a bit due to a number of key injuries early in the season and going after a more youthful feel. "The combination of the two factors kept us out of the win column as much as we would have liked. However, I believe it has strengthened our program in the long run. The WPSL team was able to pull players from it's Elite Female Soccer Academy and give them opportunities to play at this level, States PJ Motsiff, Owner and GM of the Lynx. In 2006, the teams innagural year the Lynx won their division and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals before bowing out to the eventual National Champion Long Island Fury.

The Lynx will open up their 10 game regular season on Saturday, May 23 at Stonehill College in Massachusettes against Bay State Select. The season will include 5 home and 5 away matches. This year all 14 East coast teams have been placed into a single pool playing for 8 play-off spots starting July 18. This year those teams will include the Maine Tide, Bay State Select, Boston Aztecs, New England Mutiny, Connecticut Reds, Adirondack Lynx, New York Athletic Club, Long Island Fury, AC Diablos, Central Delaware, Philadelphia, Lancaster (PA), Maryland, and Millburn (NJ).

PJ Motsiff , Owner /GM of the Adirondack Lynx has been working extremely hard in the off-season to bring in some top level talent that will get the team back to the top of the league standings.

“With many new faces this summer, are all very excited to see what Adirondack can do this season,” said Motsiff. “ We again have signed some very good players in the off-season and will be announcing the new team in the next few weeks. We feel we have as good a chance as ever to go far this year and return to our winning ways. With the WPSL sending 9 of the top 11drafted players into the Women's Professional League you can be sure the league will be as strong as ever. This is especially true for the Connecticut Reds and the Boston Aztecs as they have created a strong affiliation with the Boston Breakers.

The Lynx play the majority of their games at the Golden Goal Tournament Park near Lake George, NY. Golden Goal is a residential facility that hosts week-long olympic style soccer tournaments for boys and girls U10-U15 youth teams.
