PJ Motsiff, Owner of the Adirondack Lynx is pleased to announce that his female soccer program will become part of Black Watch NY Premier Soccer Club.

" I feel we now share similar ideals, commitments and training philosophies in relation to the women's game", said Motsiff. Motsiff knows Black Watch very well as he was a staff coach for four years with the club prior to starting the Adirondack Lynx. "I am personally connected with many of the administrators that are now involved with Black Watch like Ron McEachen (Technical Director) and Sarah Cooper (Director of Girls). I feel the time is right to bring what I have done for female players over the last 4 years into the fold of Black Watch. Black Watch is considered one of the best run and most competitive clubs in the United States Super Y League. The reputation that Black Watch has in this country and the fact that they are a Nike Premier Club will “raise the bar” and afford many Lynx players an opportunity to move to the next level. The Lynx and Black watch merger will assist in many areas including:

1. Player development
2. Coaching education
3. Facilities and resources
4. Performance at regional and national levels
5. To create an integrated program from the junior levels to amateur teams..

The benefits of such a merger are numerous. They include the opportunities for players
to grow within one club from the most junior ages through their collegiate playing careers;
pooling our soccer professionals; creation of highly competitive teams capable of consistently competing for regional and national championships; providing resources for soccer training and development for players, and minimize the duplication of resources.

Black Watch

The Adirondack Lynx and the Adirondack Lynx Elite Female Soccer Academy will merge with Black Watch NY Premier beginning in the fall of 2009-2010. Black Watch is a part of the Nike Premier Club network. This is a "family" of 46 of the top youth elite clubs in the U.S. They exemplify the best in performance, professionalism and youth development.

One of the goals of the potential merger is to increase the academy program that Black Watch has already established. This Adirondack Lynx trained over 120 players this past winter in the Saratoga, Glens Falls area in their own academy program. Operating under one umbrella allows the club resources to be distributed more along the I87 corridor. Black Watch has already established themselves in the Schenectady, Albany, and Latham areas. With the addition of the Adirondack Lynx, Black Watch would now move north into the Saratoga, South Glens Falls, and Queensbury areas.

The Lynx currently have over 80 girls playing and training in their summer soccer school. This program operates out of Saratoga Springs and has teams at the U11, 13, 15 and 17 level. The 11, 13, and 15 teams compete in the Youth Premier Soccer League throughout the month of July. The 17's have the opportunity to train this summer with top college players and play friendlies as they prepare for the US Club College Showcase in Virginia Beach the first weekend in August.

According to Steve Freeman, Founder and DOP of Black Watch remarked, “We are extremely excited to be able to announce the integration of the Adirondack Lynx Girls' Programming to Black Watch Premier and the addition of the Technical Staff; PJ Motsiff, Mark Van Lueven and Tim Cross. We respect the program greatly and all who are involved. Enhancing the Girls' side of the BWP Program has been one of the initiatives our Technical and Administrative Staff within the Club this year,”

The addition of Sarah Cooper Raymond, former Australian National Team Captain who played in two FIFA Women's World Cups as the Club’s Director of Coaching-Girls, and the addition of technical staffing of PJ Motsiff, Head Coach of the WPSL Adirondack Lynx, Matt Jones, Women's Assistant Head Coach at NCAA Division II National Semi-finalist College of St. Rose, Nick Southworth, former Co-Head Coach of Scholastic Women's Empire State Games Team and former Division I and PDL player, Steve Freeman, Director of Programming & Founder of BWP plus Marty Johnson with over 15 years of youth soccer coaching experience, Mark Van Lueven, Tim Cross and retaining Pete Lopez, Rob Roney, Jeff Rockmore and Rich Standhart addresses the Club’s initiative to enhance the girls’ programming for 2009-10 and beyond. “Our Technical Staff on both the boys' and girls' sides are professional, experienced, and equipped to enhance our training and player development environment. I believe BWP offers a great opportunity for the female youth soccer player to learn, to compete and to develop as youth soccer player. For the first time in the 14-year BWP Club history, we will offer programming from U11-U18 on the Girls' side plus a senior women's team, the WPSL Adirondack Lynx which will be co-branded in 2010 and fully integrated in 2011,” stated Freeman.

"We are all excited about the merger", commented Motsiff. "It makes sense economically, it makes sense geographically, and most importantly it makes sense for our kids. Our goal will be to serve all players, from the youth level through their college career, at a higher
level than now possible for an individual club in this area.
