Cerrone tapped to play with the U20 Women's National Team

U20's finish 1-1-1 against college teams as they make early preperations for the 2008 FIFA U20 World Cup.

U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team head coach Jillian Ellis took her squad to Texas from March 23-28 for three matches against college teams currently in the midst of their spring seasons. All the matches will be played at Texas A&M in College Station, site of the 2007 NCAA Women’s College Cup. The U-20s took on BYU, SMU oand Texas A & M. Ellis brought 22 players for the three matches, as the team continues its very early preparations for qualifying to the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be held in Chile. Included in that roster was Hannah Cerrone who will be headed to Boston College in the Fall. Over the summer she wil be playing with the Adirondack Lynx of the WPSL.

The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team picked up a win, a loss and a tie. The USA played the first of the three matches against BYU and for the second straight year, the Cougars downed the U-20s, this time 2-0. The U-20s rebounded with a 5-0 win over SMU as five different players scored.In the last match, The USA took on host Texas A&M and had to rally with two goals in the last five minutes to pull out a 3-3 draw with the defending Big-12 champs. The U-20s will return to action in May with a trip to Manchester, England to play several top English women’s clubs.

Midfielders (6): Ashley Bowyer (Ohio State), Becky Edwards (Florida State), Kaley Fountain (Wake Forest), Kelly Henderson (Boston College), Whitney Hooper (Texas A & M), Teresa Noyola (MVLA Mercury);
Forwards (8): Kiersten Dallstream (Washington State), Ashlee Elliot (Florida), Michelle Enyeart (Portland), Rachel Givan (Mississippi United), Laure Heyboer (Bloomfield Force), Allie Sadow (Wake Forest), Brittney Steinbruch (Miami), Rachel Wood (Slammers FC).
