The goal this year is to score early and often. This is the 2nd game this year where the Lynx have scored 4 goals. At the 14 minute mark, Left back Stefanie Knopick slotted a ball down the left flank. When Tessa McDougall spotted the pride Keeper off her line, she sent a 35 yard goal floater over her head and it was good enough for a 1-0 lead.
Maryland's best chance to even things happened at the 25th minute when Christy Bush snuck through the Lynx defense for a one-on-one With Meghan Sleezer...but the Lynx GK came up "big" to keep the Pride scoreless..
In the 37th minute, The Lynx came out of there defensive end in a quick counter attack. Outside middie, kaitlyn Robbins, received a ball at midfield on the right side. She drew the back line to her and pushed a ball behind the defense where Laura Burnett-Kurie collected it and went 40 yards where she finished the 1v1 to make the score 2-0.
With a couple minutes remaining in the half, Maryland created a couple chances but could not capitalize on Lynx net minder, Sleezer.
Seven minutes into the second half, Anabel Jimenez made it a game when she got in behind the Lynx defense and hit a shot from 18 yards out.
At the 60th minute, Tessa McDougall found herself 1v1 with the Pride keeper, Patti Carroll. Patti shut her down, but Heidi Reece was there to follow up the rebound to make it 3-1. Five minutes later, kaitlyn Robbins got her second assist of the game. Robbins connected with her teammate Chelsea Barry on a throw-in. Barry challenged the pride keeper for a 50/50 ball and got enough on it to flick it into the goal.

With 2 minutes left in regulation, Maryland's Drew Smith unleashed a shot that bounced off the crossbar, on the other side was CJ Allen to knock it in . After several more near misses, the Pride realized it just wasn't going to be their day, and the game was then marred by a couple of yellow cards awarded to Lisa Zanti, who let her frustrations get the better of her.
