Queensbury, NY. –The Adirondack Lynx returned to upstate NY on Saturday night. The Lynx have struggled the past 2 regular season matches in getting on the scoreboard. This was not the case as they scored 5 goals against the Massachusetts Stingers on a rainy night inside the Adirondack Sports Complex.
Jillian Arnault, a standout from Colgate University was the first to put a number on the board. Her goal was set up by taking her defender 1 on1 near the right side of the 18 yard box. A couple of cuts later she unleashed a laser that the goalie had no chance of catching.
10 minutes later, English international and Franklin Pierce University stalwart, Shona Franklin broke past the defense and out hustled everyone. She was able to poke a ball into the net just before colliding with the keeper. Franklin was carried off the field and did not return.

Katie Gardiner co-captain (gold) scored 2 goals in the win over the Massachusetts stingers.
The third goal of the half was scored by Lynx captain Katie Gardiner. She received a ball at the edge of the 18 and ripped a shot into the near post upper 90.
The defensive play of the match came with 10 minutes left in the first half. A Mass player cracked a shot that was sure to be a goal. Meghan Sleezer (headed to Skidmore in the fall out of Gloversville, NY), made a diving save in the upper 90 with her body laid out almost horizontally.
In the Second half, the stingers adjusted their formation. It was very effective as they had many more scoring opportunities. In the 50th minute Massachusetts finally hit net. Liz Rebello scored the goal with pure heart and desire.
The 4th Lynx goal of the night was scored by Katie Gardiner when she scored off of a head from Emily Bohn. The final Lynx goal of the evening was scored by Mary Velan as she streaked across the 18...she hit a ball! With 5 minutes to go the stingers scored a second goal on the evening.
