Pelham, New York –The Adirondack Lynx continued its winning ways in a 6-0 win over the New York Athletic Club. Sara Wild and Tessa MacDougall each scored two times, while Amanda Casares had a goal and an assist.

Mandi Casares scored the first goal just over a minute into the match. Casares got a ball played to her about 40 yards out. She went at speed and no one picked up the midfielder so she she hit a lazer from about 20 yards out. About 8 minutes later, Sara Wild took a left footed corner kick from the right flank. She put just enough "english" on it to find its way into the goal mouth untouched. With the Lynx dominating much of the possession in the first half, Laura Burnett-Kurie, outran the NYAC defense and collected a through ball. She drove end line and slotted a ball to the 12 yard line where Wild put home her second goal of the match.

Sara Wild (Williams College) scored 2 goals against the NYAC. One was off of this left footed corner kick.

The second half was much like the first half where the Lynx controlled play with an occasional counter attack that was stopped by the stingy Lynx defense. In the 59th minute, Mandi Casares hit a through ball between the NYAC defense and Tessa MacDougall got on the other end of it with a long run. She was composed enough to put it away to make the score 4-0. In the 68th minute, Tessa found herself on the end of a 25 yard service across the goal mouth where she was able to onetime it past the NYAC keeper. Adirondack scored its final goal of the match in the 88th minute when Ashley Hamel put a well placed through ball at the feet of High School junior Ashley Cross. Cross took a touch and hit it near post. The shot hit the inside of the post and deflected into the goal.

Keepers Meghan Sleezer and Jen McEacheron combined to get the 2nd shutout for the Lynx this season. With the team playing in a new formation for this match, the Defense really stepped up their game. Defenders were Chelsea Barry, Katie Gardiner, Tracy Stankavage, and Stephani Knopick.

The Lynx next match is home this Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. against Central Delaware. The match has been moved from the National Soccer Hall of Fame to Skidmore College.
