The fans at the Clifton Commons Soccer Facility in Clifton Park, NY watched in amazement, and were not exactly sure what they should do when Ashley Moore lit the net on fire with her 4th goal of the evening in Saturday night's WPSL matchup against the visiting New York City Athletic Club.

It's a no brainer what the fans are supposed to do when a player scores their hatrick goal...

...but they did seem a little confused on exactly what to do after her encore goal, and 4th tally for the evening. Either way, the crowd on hand was thrilled to witness such a fine performace from a hometown soccer talent who grew up training and playing right in Clifton Park, New York.

Ashley Moore of Clifton Park, NY had a 4 goal match.

Moore accomplished her incredible feat with some great support and beautiful passes from her Lynx teammates. Olympic and World Cup player Danielle Small chalked up 2 assists, Heather Garriock, a current member of the Australian National Matildas Women's Team had an assist as well, and so did Mary Velan, an NCAA All-American out of Oneonta State, who is having an amazing season so far with Adirondack.

Lynx Head Coach PJ Motsiff noted after the game, "Ashley showed why Anson Dorrance has made her part of the #1 recruited class in the United States heading to the University of North Carolina in the fall. In the first half she scored less then 10 minutes in. However, in the second half she really took over the match by scoring 3 goals within a 15 minute span.

"The truly amazing part was that all 4 goals were beautifully struck. She did not get any 'cheap' or hard fought 'bang it in' kind of goals. All four assist passes to her were perfectly placed, allowing Moore to work her magic and make the most of each opportunity, and she did. The 'hit-it-hard-and-hope-it-goes-in' is definitely not her style. Ashley really put on a clinic for everyone as all 4 of her shots were strategically placed just out of reach of the opposing keepers hands. Nobody is 'lucky' four times in a row-- nobody.", Motsiff added.

Lynx Goalkeeper Patti Carroll saved a PK and certain goal

Patti Carroll stopped a penalty kick with a full stretch dive on a well placed shot.

Also in on the scoring for the Lynx was De Wachtel. De had played a full 90 minutes earlier in the day in eastern Massachusetts for her club team then rushed back to Albany to score the second goal of the night for Adirondack.

Another major play of the game took place in the 30th minute. After Lynx picked up a penalty for a handball inside the box, Adirondack goalkeeper Patti Carroll put her feet on the line with confidence.

She stopped the PK that was a sure goal with a sprawling stretched out save. Carroll got enough of a hand on it initially to knock it off target and against the post. She then calmly collected up the rebounding ball and smothered any chance of an New York Athletic Club goal.

The win moves the Adirondack Lynx to 4-2 on the season and the NYAC drop to 2-2-1.The Lynx return to action on Thursday, June 19 when they will play the always tough New England Mutiny in Springfield MA, at 7:30 p.m.
