The Adirondack Lynx will have their first Women's premier Soccer League "Dome game" and "Home game" in franchise history on Saturday June 3, inside the new Adirondack Sports Complex Dome in Queensbury, New York. The match will be played against the visiting Maryland Pride and starts at 7:30 pm. Starting in the Lynx lineup will be two Australian international World Cup and Olympic players, Danielle Small and Heather Garriock. Of course, the game will be played rain or shine, courtesy of the ASC dome covering.
There will be lots of Soccerfest activities going on before and after the game, and since the WPSL is a grassroots soccer organization, all youth leagues and teams are invited and encouraged to attend.
In addition to this being the first game in franchise history for the Lynx, it's a great opportunity for fans to come and see the new Adirondack Sports Complex soccer training facilities available to everyone in the Upstate NY region.
It only makes sense for coach Motsiff to want to play his home opener at ASC. The Adirondack Sports Complex enlisted him to be Director of Soccer as they began the start-up phase of their soccer operations less than 4 months ago.
...the season opener should be quite a spectacle. In addition to a really great game of soccer at the highest level of women's competition, and a large media turnout, we are also having a "soccerfest" celebration the same night. It should be quite the scene” -- Lynx GM Paul Motsiff
Motsiff believes the Dome is someplace "special" and has been long overdue for the diehard soccer fans/players that live in upstate New York and Saratoga and Warren Counties. It's a place where local residents and athletic groups who want to continue to play their 'summer sports' can come year round and train.

Motsiff also feels that the dome is going to make soccer in the southern Adirondack area explode because of it's ability to keep focus on 'summer sports' sports year round giving them much greater exposure to the region and media. It also makes it possible for very talented youths to excel beyond their current skill levels locally as they no longer have to drive to Clifton Park or Schenectady in the winter to play indoor soccer.
Even with the abbreviated winter soccer season this year, the dome has generated a large interest in terms of players and teams. It hoped that by having Adirondack Lynx semi-pro Soccer Team's home opener inside the dome, it will touch off even more local Glens Falls area interest in youth and grassroots soccerprograms as fans take note of the great facilities available for them to use right in their own backyards.
