Ashley Walsh, a Senior High School Goalkeeper Finishes the Season as an NSCAA All-American

Walsh who has already committed to attend Colgate in the fall, had 9 shut-outs (25 Career) this season at CBA of Syracuse

Ashley Walsh was recently named All- American by the NSCAA. This Summer she had her skills tested while playing with the Adirondack Lynx. Here she makes a save on Tiffany Weimer, a player in the full U.S. National Team who played for SoccerPlus CT.

Friday, December 12, 2008 - Ashley Walsh a Senior Goalkeeper from CBA of Syracuse was recently named to the Adidas NSCAA High School All-American Team. She will be honored at the NSCAA convention being held in St. Louis January 14-17.

Walsh spent some time between the posts this summer for the full WPSL team. Ashley had an opportunity to really increase her level of playing in the WPSL, one of the top 5 women's leagues in the world. Lynx head coach, and former professional goalie Bernie Watt put Walsh through her paces during training sessions in order to assist her in preparing for her final school season at CBA. Along the way Walsh also had an opportunity to hone her skills in playing against a number of past WUSA Players and future WPS players as she had an started in some "big time" matches.

This fall, she has helped her team to a first place finish in the Freedom League with 9 shutouts. She concludes her career at CBA with a total of 25 Shut-outs.

Walsh is only one of five players from New York that were named as NSCAA All-Americans. She was also honored by making the New York State team along with 5 other High School Players that saw action with the Adirondack Lynx this summer.
