Lowell, MA - Can you say Deja Vu. If an opening season loss is any indication to how the 2007 season will go for the Lynx, just look back at the 2006 season. One year ago, the Lynx lost 2-1 to the Aztecs then ended up winning the conference and making it to the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

With many of Adirondack's players having yet to report to the team for training: Ashley Moore - traveling with UNC in Australia, Heather Garriock - training with the Australian world Cup team down under, five Ohio State University players still in school finishing up their trimester, Hannah Cerrone and Brooke Knowlton at their USYSA State Cup Game, Mary Velan returning from a year of studying abroad, just to name a few.

Even with that core of players, this weekend was promising according to coach and General Manager, PJ Motsiff. "It was a good opening match for us in league play. I felt the difference in the match was that early on we had a couple defensive meltdowns as evidenced by the time of their goals (5 minutes and 36th minutes.) After that we settled in and played decent soccer. Unfortunately at this level, in this league, you cannot afford the slightest of mistakes because you will pay! Decent soccer is not good enough, it has to be great soccer to win. "

The Aztecs scored the first goal of the game 5 minutes in when a ball was slotted through the defense at midfield and Boston player Lauren Ciccone sped through for the breakaway goal. Then in the 36th minute Sara Hourihan fed Brazilian international, Gabriella Demoner the ball at the 18 and she put it away. Adirondack got on the board just 3 minutes before the half. Brought up from the reserve team for this game, Lisa Tarquinio (First Team All NY State Player) made great use of her time on the field as she connected on a corner kick for the Lynx only goal.

Adirondack's next League match is June 2 at 6pm when they travel to play Tony DiCicco and his SoccerPlus Connecticut team.
