The Adirondack Lynx will play their season opening WPSL match against the Boston Aztecs on Saturday May 20 at 2pm in a "home" game at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, New York.

Although the WPSL schedule officially lists the game as a home game for the Lynx, the match is being played 2 hours away from the real Lynx home base in Glens Falls NY. For the local upstate New York Lynx fans this game is not being billed as the season home opener -- next weekend's match vs. Maryland Pride inside the Adirondack Sports Complex Dome in Queensbury, NY gets that distinction.

The match with the Eastern Conference WPSL opponent Boston will be held at "At-A-Glance" Stadium on the campus of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. The Lynx are hoping the fact that three of their players who also play for SUNY Oneonta and have experience at the stadium, and a fan base there, will help them secure a true home field advantage over the visiting Aztecs.

The Lynx go into the game knowing very little about Boston since 2006 is their franchise debut year in the Women's Premier Soccer League. That means first hand scouting reports on the Aztecs are something the Adirondack coaching staff will do without.

We're actually relying quite a bit on my own player's scouting reports for this game. They've played against, and with, some of the opposing Boston players.” -- Lynx Coach PJ Motsiff

"We're actually relying quite a bit on my own player's scouting reports for this game. They've have played against, and with, some of the opposing Boston players. It's not much to go on, but I'm sure we'll pull through it by making numerous 'on the fly' adjustments come game time ", commented Lynx head coach Paul Motsiff.

Motsiff also noted, "Boston certainly has a great individual player in Jaime Gilbert who's has played with the US National Team U-20 squad, we already know about her. Since Jaime also plays under Anson Dorance at University of North Carolina we know she's a top notch opponent."

"Next year Jaime will be joined at UNC by one of our own talented Lynx players, Ashlee Moore", Motsiff also added.

The May 20 game in Oneonta will be the First of the season for the and the first game in franchise history for the lynx whose season opener last weekend against Bay State was cancelled due to storms and flooding of eastern Massachusetts. Game time is 2pm at 'At-A-Glance' Stadium.
