The Adirondack Lynx will return to the US National Soccer Hall of Fame for the first time since losing the 2006 East Regional Finals 2-1 to the Long Island Fury. The match will be played against the visiting Central Delaware SA and starts at 2:00 pm. The CDSA team is led by head coach Wayne Grocott. Grocott will be the assistant coach for the Philadelphia Women's Professional team scheduled to begin play in 2010.
The Legends of Soccer Tournament is an annual event hosted by the National Soccer Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame hosts a number of weekend tournaments throughout the summer for various age groups. The Lynx game will be part of the girls U10-U14 weekend.
It only makes sense for PJ Motsiff, general manager/owner to want to play at the National Hall of Fame. Motsiff states, "The WPSL, Soccer Hall of Fame and the Adirondack Lynx are all grassroots efforts, so anytime we can take this level of a team somewhere new to entertain youth girls... we go! We have played a few times at the Hall of Fame and are looking forward to returning again this summer. The environment is first class at the Hall of Fame and the grass fields they have there may be the best we will play on in the northeast."
