UNLV Players, Erica Jensen and Tanya Roberts to play for Adirondack in 2008
Jensen and Roberts, former WPSL players with the Las Vegas Tabagators will come east to play with the Lynx this summer

Erica Jensen, co-captain of the UNLV Running Rebels the last two years was named to the Mountain West Conference first team in 2007.
The Adirondack Lynx are excited to announce their first new signings of 2008. Erica Jensen and Tanya Roberts, former members of the WPSL Las Vegas Tabagators will be traveling east to join Adirondack this summer. Both players have had outstanding careers for the Running Rebels. Jensen and Roberts have played a huge part of the four-peat Mountain West Champions of UNLV. Both players have played under the guidance of Kat Mertz, the U20 Women's US National Team assistant coach.
Jensen, has captained UNLV for the past two seasons. This past fall she ran the midfield in all 20 matches. In doing so she earned first team all-conference in the Mountain West Conference. In guiding the team to an 11-5-5 mark, the team went undefeated at home and tied a team record for the fewest losses in a season. The team finished the season as the MWC championship finalist. In 2006, Jensen was named an all-conference player and started 22 games. She keyed the defense from the midfield and helped get her team into the NCAA tournament. Jensens sophomore year she transferred from Cal State Fullerton and appeared in all 23 contests. Her team also played in the NCAA tournament in 2005. In 2004 Jensen played for Cal State Fullerton as they won the Big West Conference Regular Season Title. Erica is from Las Vegas and prior to college she participated in the Nevada ODP program for 2 years as well as playing club soccer for the Las Vegas Tabagators, 7 time state champions. Jensen holds her USSF "D" coaching license.
Tanya Roberts spent last season as a student assistant with UNLV. She was the team captain for the Running Rebels in 2005 and 2006. Roberts finished her collegiate career ranked 8th in career points at UNLV. In her 4 years she played more games then any other UNLV player ever. In 2006 she was named the MWC tournament MVP as her team won the MWC championship for the third straight year. Also in 2006 Roberts was selected to the NSCAA Western Region III team. 2005 was just as good for Roberts as she was first team all conference and named to the MWC all tournament team.

Tanya Roberts was an assistant coach with the Running Rebels this past fall. However, she has been one of the key players that started UNLV on their 4-peat WMC Championship run.
Coach Mertz stated, "You are getting two of the hardest working players to come out of UNLV in the past few years. Both players are true leaders and well respected by their peers. They played well for the Tabagators and I am sure they will be very competitive in the Eastern Conference of the WPSL as well."
General Manager PJ Motsiff feels, "Roberts and Jensen will bring some maturity to our team. Both were captains of a Division 1 championship team and have played in the WPSL. They have seen the level of play of the best in the west and we are looking forward to them joining our side this summer."
