Looking to get beyond the WPSL Eastern Conference finals, where their season ended in 2006, General Manager, PJ Motsiff has secured Ohio State defensive standout and former NJ Wildcats player, Keiana Mitchell to play for the Lynx in 2007.

Keiana will be heading into her senior year at Ohio State Universitry. During her junior year she started all 19 matches for the Buckeyes. Mitchell was honored this season as an NSCAA/Adidas honorable mention Academic All-American.

In 2005, Keiana appeared in 15 matches and started 11 of them. As a freshman, she saw action in 25 matches and started in 12 of them. This included all 8 postseason matches. During her rookie year she helped Ohio State to a 19-4-3 record and a Big Ten Tournament Championship and a trip to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament. This all led to her being selected to the SoccerBuzz Great Lakes Region All-Freshman team.

...By adding [Mitchell] to the defense, with All-American Kylee Litchfield, and U17 National Team player Hannah Cerrone, it will be very difficult for opposing teams to easily get shots off on our keepers.”

Motsiff states, "Mitchell is one of the best defenders in the Big 10. Her size and vey quick defensive speed will make it very difficult for forwards to get positive looks on the frame." He feels that Mitchell will be one of the key links to Adirondack's success in 2007. "By adding Keiana to the defense with All-American Kylee Litchfield, and U17 National Team player Hannah Cerrone, it will be very difficult for opposing teams to get shots off on our keepers."

As a high schooler, Mitchell had a stellar career and she attended Country Day High School in Cincinnati, OH.

She was named second team All-Ohio by the OSSCA in 2003, named to Cincinnati Enquirer all-star squads from 2000-2003, named to Cincinnati All-City Team from 2001-2003, earned First Team All- Miami Valley Conference honors in track and field in 2003 and played for the Dayton Soccer Academy club team and earned a spot in the Region II ODP Player Pool.
