Lynx season over with 2-0 loss to Long Island Fury in the East Conference Final playoff.
National Soccer Hall of Fame seems to be the "Lynx Jinx"
July 23, 2006, Oneonta, NY - The Lynx started and ended their inaugural season the same way at the same location -- a disappointing loss at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, NY.
The number two seeded Long Island Fury had something to prove today and they came out and did it. They beat the number one seeded Lynx in the in the Eastern Conference playoffs finals by a score of 2-0.
It was only two weeks ago that Adirondack knocked off the fury 2-1 in Clifton Park, NY., back then Long Island was undefeated and unscored upon.
The Fury's player of the game for this playoff match though was Forward Emily Sammis; she scored at the 10th and 57th minute to earn her team a trip to Salt Lake City for the 2006 WPSL Championships on July 28-29.
With the loss the Adirondack Lynx finish the season at 8-4. In their first season, the Lynx were able to earn a first Divisional title and become Eastern Conference Finalists. This is quite an impressive feat considering the Lynx did not develop through an existing soccer club, or organization like most teams in the WPSL.

Adirondack Loses Only Thier Third Game of the Season !
ADK gets to preview their first playoff opponent, and loses final game 2-1 to Northampton
July 17, 2006 - The Lynx lost only their third game of the season today 2-1 at the feet of the Northampton Laurels. J. Brimley Crum Stadium in Allentown, PA was almost 100 degrees and the humidity was off the charts. The Lynx never really got going as the heat took its toll. All of the scoring took place in the first half. After giving up a disputed Penalty Kick 15 minutes into the match, U17 National Pool player CJ Ludemann teamed up with All-American Mary Velan to even up the score 1-1. A short while later the Laurels scored what turned out to be the game winner by barely chipping the ball over onrushing goalkeeper, Patti Carroll.
The win for the Laurels puts them in second place in the Southern Division of the WPSL Eastern conference. With the Lynx being the #1 seed of the Northern division they will host Northampton Friday night at 7pm. The site has yet to be determined. Should the Lynx beat the Laurels, they could possibly host the WPSL Eastern conference finals on Sunday.
Lynx Are in the 2006 WPSL Playoffs!
Adirondack makes the playoffs as the #1 Seed Their First Year in the League
July 16, 2006 - As the WPSL playoff seedings are slowly becoming clear, the Lynx have earned a spot courtesy of a couple of unexpected late season losses by the #2 and #3 teams in the Eastern Conference-North standings yesterday. Last week the Lynx were sitting precariously on top of the East North Standings, while the Massachusetts Stingers and the Long Island Fury were tied and sitting just below them in the stsndings. Both teams lost their matches last night, giving the Lynx a guaranteed #1spot in the playoff picture. The Lynx seed will now be determined by today's match on the road against the Northampton Laurels in Pennsylvania. A win guarantees them a #1 seeding and home field advantage for both playoff games, and a loss means a #2 seeding and traveling for the playoffs.
