Timothy Wayne Motsiff signed onto the Lynx roster early Friday morning June 9. He arrived at training camp with mom, Kate, at just over 10 lbs. Coach Motsiff is hoping he can fill in at Stopper or Sweeper when the tyke gets the call up for his first start.

June 9, 2006 - The youngest member of the Adirondack Lynx staff/roster joined the team just this Friday morning, June 9. Timothy Wayne Motsiff was born to Coach PJ Motsiff and his wife Kate.
Timothy joins his older, already soccer crazed siblings, Caroline and Jack. The new, young Lynx recruit signed in to camp at just over 10 lbs, so he's quite the little bruiser already. Coach Motsiff is thinking of future 'stopper' and 'enforcer' role for the burly little tyke.
The new recruit is a live-wire banshee with incredible drooling skills, great communication when he wants the rattle or food, and quick to raise his hand for a rest and nap when he needs to be pulled off the field. He is always prowling on the offense and looking for a free meal, or to make something happen and attract attention for himself.
Notes his Mom, and nine month training partner Kate Motsiff, "He's been one hell of a kicker during the pre-season! I mean, left foot, right foot, volleys, toe kicks, he's got it all! What an arsenal of powerful weapons this guy brings to the team this summer. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when, come nap time, we have to pull him kicking and screaming off the field and he doesn't want to sit the bench for a timeout."
As with all our new Lynx arrivals, this one will have to be pushed around a lot, given frequent rest breaks, and spoon feed for a while 'til he gets with the program. Babysitting the players like that isn't my favorite part of the job, but on occasion, if that's what I'm called upon to do, that's what must be done -- but I'm just hoping the other team players can all jump in and save me.” - a grinning Lynx Coach, PJ Motsiff
Because the new recruit is the youngest in Lynx franchise history, Coach Motsiff is hoping the other team players will pick up some slack around him as needed -- and also pick up the little guys dirty team diapers, if needed, too. Motsiff says, "I'm hoping the team will step up to the plate right away to help out with our new guy. There is so much they can all chip in and do".
He also added, "As with all our new Lynx arrivals, this one will have to be pushed around a lot, given frequent rest breaks, and spoon feed for a while until he gets with the program. Babysitting the players like that isn't my favorite part of the job, but on occasion, if that's what I'm called upon to do, that's what must be done -- but I'm just hoping the other team players can all jump in and save me.”
The new recruit is expected to cause quite a stink at all the training sessions. Getting the youngest lynx player in history to even sit up onto the pot will be quite a task, much less making sure his shot hits the lower 90 pretty consistently. Coach Motsiff has his work cut out for him with this newest Lynx signing, indeed.
Be sure to congratulate Coach and his wife Kate on their historic Lynx signing event.
