Orthopaedic Doctor, Eugene Byrne, M.D. Partners with the Adirondack Lynx

Lake Placid Sports Medicine has partnered with the Adirondack Lynx to provide soccer specific rehabilitation programs for youth to professional players. Dr. Byrne currently is the Team Physician for the US Bobsled Team

Eugene Byrne, MD and his company, Lake Placid Sports Medicine, has joined with the Lynx as a partner and will provide consultation, as well as, medical support for the Adirondack Lynx WPSL team and its Elite Female Academy athletes.

Lynx Owner PJ Motsiff, states, " it is only fitting to have Dr. Byrne be connected to our organization. Knowing that when compared to males, females have a very high rate of injury, including ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injuries, ankle fractures, and torn cartilage, it is important to have a relationship with a physician that consistently deals with these types of injuries. Dr. Byrne works with elite athletes on a consistent basis at the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY. He understands the importance of injury prevention, as well as, what our top athletes go through mentally and physically after an injury. Dr. Byrne and his staff at Lake Placid Sports Medicine are a leader in the Adirondack region on orthopaedic surgery. We really look forward to the assistance Dr. Byrne will be able to provide."

Eugene Byrne, MD, will be supporting the Adirondack Lynx as a consultant. He will assist as needed in the development of strength and fitness preventive programs.

Dr. Byrne was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ. He attended Kean University as an undergraduate and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; receiving his MD in 1996, where he completed his residency as well. Dr. Byrne continued his training in a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Cincinnati Bone and Joint Institute in Cincinnati, OH where he also served as the Assistant Team Physician for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals Football Team. Dr. Byrne is Board Certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a consultant to the US Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid and Team Physician for the US Bobsled Team.
