Profile

Carla Arbulu was a 19 game starter in 2006 for Ohio State. She comes to Adirondack this summer and will join her fellow defensive buckeye unit in Cait Colfer, Kienna Mitchell, Cassie Dickerson, and Lauren Robertson. She will be entering her senior year at Ohio State.

Arbulu started out her collegiate career as a forward, but her OSU Coach Lori Walker has transformed her speed into one of the best marking backs in the Big 10. Arbulu has had a major impact on the Buckeye program as she has seen game time in 57 of her 63 career matches. In 1999 and 2000 Carla played for the Southern California United Soccer Club team when they won the national championships.

Carla Arbulu has seen game time in 57 of her 63 games at Ohio State. This fall she be a key piece in the Buckeye defense as she will be playing outside back.

Lynx Manager PJ Motsiff feels Carla will contribute to the team in many ways this summer. "The key to playing at this level is to be dynamic. Carla brings that part of the game to the Adirondack Lynx. She will create problems for opposing teams because she can play any position on the field including Goalkeeper!"

Motsiff also adds "Carla is quick, decisive and performs very well under pressure, always making good strategic choices. She is a 'take charge' player, not afraid to step up her game, and not afraid to run herself ragged, always positioning herself properly. Her work ethic and work rate is what stands out most about her. She is the kind of player who can single handedly change the outcome of a game, and is willing to step up and do it at all times."

Arbulu will slot into a defensive role for the Lynx and perhaps take on a few new ones, too depending on how well she adapts to the Adirondack system of play.
