Profile

Aussie Danielle Small will make Lynx opponents lives tough- she is a world class athlete with plenty of international soccer experience to go with it. She has 32 international appearances for the Australian National team in various Olympic and World Cup matches under her belt.

Danielle is an intense midfielder, very strong on the ball and mobile in making quick supporting runs. Great field vision, a excellent server of deadly accurate through balls, and can run directly at a defense with the ball. She is a very focused player and constantly looking to open herself up to receive the ball.

Named as an alternate for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Team, one of four players on standby with a possibility of being called into the Team of eighteen in case of injury, Danielle suffered an untimely knee injury in March and did not recovered by the time of selections in June.

Australian Danielle Small challenges a Ghana player for the ball during a 2003 World Cup match.

She was selected to play on the Australian Olympic Team which competed in Athens 2004 and even more impressive, she was a starter in each of Australia's four matches when they advances though to the quarter final rounds

Small played college soccer here in the US for the University of Mobile in Alabama, the number one nationally ranked team in Division Two in 1998. At the time she was a sweeper and was selected in the All-American First Team there. She requested a transfer to San Diego State University In 1999 and became a co-captain while at Division One SDSU studying Sports Medicine.

'Smally' is a Certified Personal Trainer and she enjoys surfing, shopping, mountain bike riding, movies, and golf. Golf? Hmmm. She's also pretty fond of ripping the back of the soccer netting, but she wont admit it out loud--- typical Aussie!   ;o)~
