Profile
Heather Garriock is a live-wire left midfielder with dazzling close ball skills and dangerous attacking runs up the flank, always looking to make something happen and working hard off the ball. She will make the Lynx legitimate contenders in a run for the WPSL Eastern Conference title in their inaugural year in the league.
Garriock was first selected into the Australian WNT in October 1999 at age 16 for a two-match Tour to China. With her 50th international cap during the 2004 Olympics (in the opening match against Brazil) she reached the milestone of participating in every single international for Australia since her debut selection - apart from three tournaments for which she was not selected (Australia Cup 2001 & 2004 and Oceania Olympic Qualifiers in 2004) in which she was sidelined by injury for the latter two.

Heather's first international goal was a equalizer against then- No.2 ranked China --during the Pacific Cup in June 2000 and she played in all three of Australia's matches as a member of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Team. A key member of the Matildas at the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup, Garriock played all 270 minutes of Australia's three matches and scored two of Australia's three goals (against China and Ghana). At the Athens 2004 Olympics, she became Australian football's youngest ever dual-Olympian at the age of 21.
She played all 360 minutes of Australia's four matches, and scored the winning goal against Greece (1-0), sending Australia to their first win in a match at a senior women's FIFA event. This was also the first Australian Team to advance past the group stage of such an event, reaching the quarterfinals, and the first Australians to take a point off the superstar USA in any competition. Overall, she has over 50 international camps (over 30 starts) while scoring nine goals for her national side.
Garriock was a champion cross country runner before giving it up to concentrate on soccer
